At its heart is the highly regarded Seiko/TMI NH36 automatic movement, featuring 24 jewels and operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour. Unlike many older entry-level automatic movements, the NH36 provides both manual winding and hacking seconds, allowing the seconds hand to be stopped when setting the time precisely.

Sapphire Crystal & Luminous Ceramic Bezel
One of the biggest upgrades is the flat sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the underside. Sapphire offers excellent resistance to everyday scratches, while the AR coating improves visibility and can create the attractive blue reflection visible from certain viewing angles.
The 120-click unidirectional dive bezel uses a scratch-resistant black ceramic insert—and Islander goes a step further by applying Super-LumiNova to the bezel markings.
